Our growing and dynamic National Integrated Transport Planning team is looking for a Team Leader - Transportation Planning / Traffic Engineering to join their Tauranga office. You will work closely with an increasingly diversified range of clients to help visualise and achieve their goals with commitment, integrity and innovation.
 
About the role:
• Lead the Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering Team, creating a sustainable and balanced team structure
• Grow the capacity, capability, skills and reputation of the team to market leading status within New Zealand. 
• Drive the emphasis on project performance and technical excellence with the accountability of Project Directors, Project Managers and Design Managers to ensure clients’ requirements are a key focus of the business.
• Contribute to the success of our business in meeting its business and strategic objectives by providing appropriate technical advice and ensuring effective management of clients, staff and projects.
• Participate in business development, business and strategic planning for the Transportation and Design workgroup.
• Study new and developing trends in transport, to align with WSP company values and strategic goals, sharing new learnings with our team, the wider business and our clients.
• Contribute to the success of our business in meeting its business and strategic objectives by providing appropriate technical advice and ensuring effective management of clients, staff and projects.
• Work collaboratively with the wider Integrated Transport Planning and Transport Teams National and International to break down barriers and deliver strategic projects.
• Prepare expressions of interest and project proposals and assist in larger competitive tender processes as part of a larger bid team.
 
Requirements:
• Relevant Bachelors or Masters Degree
• Working towards NZPI or CPEng registration
• Current clean Drivers Licence
• Strong organisational skills
• Good analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to present ideas, information and advice in a way that is understandable by a range of audiences.
• Proven project management and business development experience
