Our Environment & Heritage team have an excellent opportunity for outgoing individuals to join their national contaminated land management team as Senior or Principal Environmental Scientists. The positions are ideal for experienced contaminated land professionals who are able to build effective relationships and provide top quality service to clients. You will also assist with business development, leading initiatives to grow the business in WSP locally and nationally.

You will be based in either Auckland, Hamilton or Christchurch

 The opportunity

  • Project manage and undertake contaminated land consultancy services including preliminary site investigations, detailed site investigations, remedial action plans, site validation reports, construction phase and ongoing monitoring and management plans, expert services.
  • Assist with identifying opportunities in the marketplace, and undertaking business development both locally and nationally.
  • Work closely with colleagues in the wider Environment team, and the Transport, Water, Power and Property teams to provide seamless complementary services.
  • Fieldwork including site walkovers, soil, vapour and groundwater sampling including the use of field equipment. Supervision of contractors including excavators, drillers, and contractors. Supervising installation of monitoring wells. Asbestos identification and management.
You will have:

  • Relevant Bachelor degree and Master’s degree preferable.
  • Professional Memberships
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in contaminated land management.
  • Demonstrated network connections.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Significant relevant experience towards being recognised as a suitably qualified and experienced practitioner (SQEP) in accordance with NES.
  • Current clean Drivers Licence.
