Our busy national Ecology team are currently seeking an experienced Ecologist to join them. The team are currently managing a significant workload which is being generated by our multidisciplinary teams across the Environment, Water, Civil and Buildings sectors. Our ideal candidate will have strong practical skills developed from a background in field ecology. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who wants to develop their technical leadership skills and shape a talented team.

You can be based in either Auckland or Hamilton.
The opportunity:
  • Deliver ecological consulting expertise to a wide range of clients;
  • Take on a leadership role as a Senior or Principal within the Ecology team;
  • Present professional environmental inputs into a variety of different types of projects;
  • Make a difference to the environmental aspects of projects and contribute towards creating sustainable communities;
  • Coach and Mentor less experienced members of the national team.
You will have:
  • Minimum of a Master's Degree in Ecology/Environmental Science - Terrestrial Ecology specialisation desirable.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience working in a similar role across a large public/ private organisation.
  • Sound knowledge of experimental design, statistical techniques and monitoring methodologies.
  • Strong background in fieldwork experience.
  • Competency in preparing AEEs within the RMA context.
  • Managing multi-disciplinary ecology projects.
  • Expert knowledge of NZ species and relevant legislation.
